Exherbo is *not* a Gentoo fork but a Linux distribution in its own right.

Fast comment; and thanks for that, Philantrop.
I intend no offense. Nonetheless, I have a hard time regarding Exherbo as anything but a Gentoo fork. The majority of Exherbo exheres fork the equivalent Gentoo ebuilds. (As the Exherbo exheres-0 format itself forks the equivalent Gentoo EAPI-1 format, this is unsurprising.) Exherbo forked the Gentoo “eclass” framework into the remarkably similar “exlib” framework. Exherbo forked the Gentoo filesystem framework, baselayout-0, from which it has yet to substantially diverge. Call it what you like — for all intents and purposes, Exherbo is a Gentoo fork. Please consider rewriting the article if you substantially disagree. ;)
But this dispute is pedantic, and frankly uninteresting. It doesn’t particularly matter whether Exherbo is a formal fork or whether it isn’t. What matters is that Exherbo is the probable future of distro development, and Gentoo the past. Viva la libertad!
Humbly yours,
