Comment on Brian Curry--Blog

Glad of your appreciance. One thing though: I meant US as in Homo Sapiens for emphasis, not U.S. It is humanity that is in peril, not Gaia, we might shamefully debase and denude our spaceship Earth, but we are not in a position to kill her.

Hah! Good catch. You’re quite a quick read. Feel free to hack up my changes, Bacillus23. I may have been a bit hasty… :)

And, you know — I wish I could be so sanguine. Evidence is beginning to indicate, however, that Gaia, herself, is now in peril of extinction. The World Wildlife Fund‘s 2006 Living Planet Report strongly states that at the present rate of biodiversity loss, Gaia will go extinct by the year 2050.

Right, then. It isn’t pleasant reading, anyway you look at it. (Some days, I wish I didn’t. Or couldn’t.)

Just passing through to say hi, wondering how you are feeling about the Economic Eschaton that is now playing out all around us as expected. Exhilarating and terrifying; the proverbial interesting times. Have some new stuff posted over at my blog if you have a dull moment. If you have any thoughts on something you would like me to write for over here then just let me know. I will now wander back off into the cybernetic ether. Breathe easy.
