leycec; Sess
Leyli Cecil (1980‘s—present) is this Wiki‘s creator and present maintainer — as well as mundane propeller of presentments of sentimentally open-source software, wordware, photographs, and monographs of meaty heart.
Leyli maintains this Wiki‘s blog, Mysidian Dreams. This is no faux-professional venture into adventurous journalism, not John Michael Greer‘s The Archdruid Report or James Howard Kunstler‘s Clusterfuck Nation or Dave Pollard‘s How to Save the World — but a slight, sightly blip for friends, family, and stranger otherworlders.
As in the rest of this restless Wiki, Mysidian Dreams pivots about a simpering, forlorn, and for-profit collapse of the spirit-unadorned, mind-thorned and -thwarting industrial civilization we’re swathed under.
Find it here or under the Blog link, below, on every page.
Leyli Cecil amassed these essays from the clutter-heap of better blog posts, lackluster, LCD-abstracted e-mail, and lustrous letters to his coterie of close and mingled friends, family, and lovers. Lovingly, then, these are:
From Essays.
Leyli Cecil malign’d these misalign’d collections of swell and temper-swilling poetry — plush and lavishly savaging word-balms — that, with temperate aplomb, are whistling:
2000—2009.From Poems.
Leyli Cecil‘s photographed (or had photographed, appreciatively) this depreciative heap of eye-jammed moments, mesmeric mega-pixels, and gloss-embossing miracles.
Oh, you oracles of sight… are out of sight.
Also, my partner:
Hearth Grove‘s photographed this fish-eyed, fishily collimating lens of Life’s collage.
Ancillary to this, if you liked these photographs, you might also like her heart’s artillery of soul-burst and -bustled limericks and acrylics.

Also, my brother:
Davon Cecil‘s photographed lewd slews of pixel-slathered, fey, and fondly fondled scenes.

Leyli maintains —- and, in most cases, meagerly invented — the following bit-freckled, sheen-frought, and free as in beer (gratis!) and free as in speech (libre!) [Li|U]nix software.
| Platform | Year | Software | Synopsis |
| Emacs | 2008 | emacso | An emacsclient-enabled shell script for opening new Emacs processes as client frames of some master Emacs process, replacing the Emacs-bundled shell script for effecting this. |
| FVWM-Crystal; FVWM | 2008 | Arlun | A resource-efficient, widget-deficient, wallpaper-, keyboard-, and console-centric recipe for FVWM-Crystal and FVWM. |
| Exherbo | 2010 | exherbo-leycec | An Exherbo git repository contributing exheres, exlibs, and occasional documentation. |
| Gentoo | 2007 | cp-pcre | A dependency-less, distro-agnostic Perl script for recursive {a} copying or moving of files and/or {b} munging of (text) file contents — with promptless, batch efficacy — via Perl Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE)-style search-and-replacement on those things. |
| Gentoo | 2008 | run-crons | A Gentoo-specific (though, probably, distro-agnostic) shell script for auto-scheduling user cronjobs via user-local ~/etc/cron.hourly/, ~/etc/cron.daily/, ~/etc/cron.weekly/, and ~/etc/cron.monthly/ directories. |
| Gentoo | 2008 | rtorrent-screen | A Gentoo-specific, screen-dependent, /etc/init.d/-style “initscript” for starting, stopping, and otherwise manipulating rtorrent — an ncurses-based, plaintext, “plain clothes” BitTorrent client. |
| IMAP | 2006 | afallen | A cronjob-driven, OfflineIMAP-dependent, and (optionally) Bogofilter-dependent Perl module for synchronizing, filtering, sorting, and spam-marking Maildir-style e-mail from one or several remote, IMAP-enabled e-mail servers onto the local e-mail client — your local machine. |
| Mercurial | 2008 | hg-snapshot | A Mercurial-fueled, NFS-, Samba-, and SSHFS-enabled shell script for selectively recursive archival, distribution, synchronization, and syndication of /etc/ and /home/* files and paths across one or several local or remote machines — in DVCS-decentralized fashion. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | oddmuse-mirror | An rsync-enabled shell script for mirroring, storing, and (occasionally!) restoring Oddmuse Wiki installations. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | autolock | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for locking wiki pages via regular expression matching on page names. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | crossbar | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for adding a site-wide footer, header, or other summary content to all Wiki pages. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | flashbox | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for embedding offsite-hosted Flash videos within Wiki pages — particularly, those hosted by Google Video, YouTube, and SlideShare. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | hibernal | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for refactoring journal and journal archival code (with, thereby, improved multi-blogging, CSS styling, HTML configuration, and third-party integration). |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | logout | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for logging out the current Oddmuse user. |
| Oddmuse | 2008 | poetry | An Oddmuse-specific Perl module for embedding whitespace-preserving poetry within Wiki pages. |
